What is Hi Nature! Pet?
Hi Nature! Pet is a Canadian fresh-cooked dog-food brand based in the GTA. We make human-grade meals that are nutritionist-formulated, veterinarian-reviewed, and balanced to AAFCO/NRC guidelines. We offer both grain-free and with-grain options, plus a dedicated Senior Care pack—so you can choose what fits your dog’s age, activity level, and sensitivities.
Why feed fresh-cooked?
Fresh-cooked food uses real, recognizable ingredients and gentle cooking to preserve food integrity and taste. Many pet parents report better digestion, steadier energy, shinier coats, and firmer stools. Every dog is different, but the idea is simple: real food, nutrition balanced, made convenient.
Is Hi Nature! food AAFCO compliant and complete?
Yes. All recipes are formulated to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles and align with NRC reference values for maintenance and growth where applicable. We routinely review formulas with veterinarians and pet-nutrition professionals for safety and nutritional adequacy.
Who formulates your food?
Our recipes are developed by a pet-nutrition team and modified and finalized by licensed veterinarians. We continuously evaluate palatability, digestibility, and nutrient targets.
What ingredients do you use—and what does “human-grade” mean?
We use fresh, human-grade meats and fish, fruits, and vegetables from reputable Canadian suppliers. We do not use feed-grade inputs, meat meals, artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives.
Do you add vitamins and minerals?
Yes. In addition to nutrients from whole foods, we use targeted, food-grade supplements (vitamin/mineral additions) as needed to ensure the diet is complete and balanced to AAFCO/NRC standards.
How do you tailor meals to my dog?

My dog has a sensitive stomach—what should I do?
Transition gradually (we include step-by-step instructions in your first box). Many sensitive pups do well on our gentler recipes and steady portions. If your dog has ongoing healthy issues or a medical history, please check with your vet.
Can my puppy or senior dog eat your food?
- Puppies (0–8 months): we do not recommend using our meals as a full diet at this age. You may use Hi Nature! as a topper alongside a complete puppy diet; discuss any changes with your veterinarian.
- Seniors: yes. We offer a Senior Care pack with senior-friendly ingredients and portions.
ABOUT STORAGE & SERVING
How do I store fresh cooked pet food?
Place meals in the freezer upon arrival. Keep 1–2 daily packs in the refrigerator so you’re ready for mealtimes. Our vacuum-sealed packs store up to 6 months frozen and up to 4 days refrigerated once thawed (unopened). Always use clean utensils.
Can I re-freeze meals that aren’t fully frozen on arrival?
If packs feel fridge-cold to the touch (like just out of the refrigerator), you can place them back in the freezer. If they feel warm, do not feed.
How do I dispose of the packaging?
- Cardboard box & paper inserts: recycle curbside.
- Gel packs: recycle the outer poly bag where facilities accept plastic film. Cut open the pack and place the gel in the household garbage (it will dehydrate to ~0.5% of its original weight). Do not pour gel down the drain.

- Dry-ice bag (if included): allow any remaining dry ice to dissipate in a well-ventilated area away from people and pets; dispose of the empty bag per local rules.
ABOUT SUBSCRIPTIONS & SHIPPING
Where do you deliver and what’s the cost?
We ship to most Ontario and Québec key urban areas.
- GTA addresses: free shipping.
- Outside the GTA (ON/QC urban zones): orders under CA$150 ship at a CA$5.99 flat rate; orders CA$150+ ship free.
Availability is confirmed at checkout by postal code.
When will I receive my delivery?
Orders placed before Friday at midnight ship the following Tuesday or Wednesday.
Delivery usually takes 1–3 business days depending on your location.
Do I have to subscribe?
Yes—Hi Nature! runs on a flexible subscription so you never run out. You can try us first with a one-time Starter Box, then move to a plan that fits your dog.
What’s in the Starter Box?
You’ll receive 7 meal packs, a Feeding Guide and storage instructions, plus a small mystery gift (toy, accessory, or treat).
What if I’m not home when it’s delivered?
Our insulated packaging and coolants are designed to keep meals cold through the delivery window. For best results, we recommend retrieving evening deliveries the same night and placing the meals in your freezer right away. If you expect to be away longer, consider having the box delivered to a location where someone can receive it on your behalf.
Will my food arrive frozen?
Yes. Every order is shipped with insulation and gel packs to keep the food cold while in transit. Please bring the box inside promptly and place the packs in the freezer right away. If a pack arrives refrigerator-cold to the touch, it’s safe to feed or re-freeze.
Can I manage or pause my subscription?
Yes! Simply log into your account to skip, pause, reschedule, or cancel your subscription anytime.
Can I return meals?
Because our products are frozen and perishable, all sales are final and we can’t accept returns. If something is incorrect or there’s a delivery issue, email hello@hinaturepet.com with your order number and photos—we’ll help promptly.
